The Lord’s Compassion

Here’s an encouraging verse from God’s word. “But You O LORD are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.” Psalm 86:15.

You know, it’s normal to have some compassion. It might be limited to those close to us, but even the most hard hearted person has a little compassion. The Lord, however, is full of compassion. He is full of patience, mercy and truth. Now, that doesn’t just mean that His supply is unlimited; it means He extends it to all people who trust in Him. None of us deserve His compassion, yet it is there for us. So, as we go through our day let’s be thankful for God’s patience with us, grateful for His mercy toward us, and let’s follow His example in being more gracious, more forgiving, more patient and more compassionate with others.
